Sweet Summertime

We have just been laying low lately and hanging around the house. It has been so incredibly hot lately, like in the high 90's into 100's with humidity. That means this momma and kiddos were staying in the AC. But we have been getting a few days of some really nice weather. Low 80's. It has been wonderful!

So yesterday after lunch, we had to run by a friends house to pick up a scrapbook she made me, we stopped by the park on the way home. We spend about an hour and 1/2, the kids were probably just glad to get out of the house. I was great going to the park in late afternoon, a lot less crowded than in the mornings.

It was a nice afternoon/evening.

Afternoon Bath

What does it say about the kind of day I had yesterday, when I gave all three kids a bath in the middle of the day?

A very long, and tiring morning!

And then we put our Jammie's on! I made sure that we were ready for bed as soon as dinner was over, that there would be no delays!

They just thought if was a treat to get to have bath time at lunch time instead of dinner. By 4p.m. Mason just couldn't hang anymore, and after a hour and 1/2 of crying fell asleep.

Now you understand what kind of day I had!

Note: He slept from 4p.m.-7:30p.m., went to bed around 9p.m.(normal bedtime is 8p.m.) and woke up the next morning around 7a.m.! I guess he had a rough day too!

On To New Adventures

For the past few weeks Taylor has been trying to roll over. She never gets anywhere, but she sure does try! It usually begins when she tries to look behind her and twists her neck so far back that she ends up on her side. But that's as far as she has made it, and the she gets stuck!

Darn arm, she just can't get over it! Then she usually just stays there and chews on her hand. When she is awake she is so active and alert now. Just always moving, "talking", smiling, and laughing. she is such a great baby. This is just the first step to a mobile baby. No more putting her on the couch, floor, or anywhere and knowing she isn't going anywhere.

Since we are talking about learning new things, check out what Mason learned how to do:

Yep, that would be him climbing up to the top bunk! I guess after watching Timothy do it and because, you know, he HAS to do EVERYTHING Timothy does it was only a matter of time. Thankfully though he doesn't jump off from the top(yet)and doesn't know how to get down. Unfortunately that means I hear "AHHHHHHHHHHHH" a million times a day as I have to go remove him from the top bunk, just so he can turn around and climb right back up.

Remind me again who thought it would be a good idea to get bunk beds!

Update on the kids

Well Wednesday I called the new doctor that I have been wanting to switch to and scheduled Taylor a check up. She will go in July 7th for her 2 and 4 month checkup since we missed he 2 month one. I also was able to have Timothy seen that afternoon to make sure all was OK.

We LOVE the new doctor and staff they were great! She checked Timothy's ears and everything was good there, and then she checked the throat and said it was pretty red. She tested for strep throat and it was negative, thank god. She said it looks like a virus and he should be back to his normal self in a few days.

It didn't even take a few days. By that night he was running around destroying the house, and terrorizing the dogs and Mason. And the fever never came back!! Taylor has not had anymore problems with her eyes, and Mason seems to be all better too!

Thankfully these germs did not stick around. Today we decided to get out of the house, to let the kids burn off some energy. Really so I would not loose my mind. We went to the park this morning and met some friends. It was a gorgeous morning. We then went to Pa Pa and Judee's where we spent the rest of the day and night swimming.

It was a nice day. The kids should sleep in tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Stressed

Things have been very stressful lately, which from my posts I am sure you could tell. The kids are all sick. Mason and Taylor have cold symptoms......cough, runny nose, congestion. Monday afternoon Timothy started running a fever, nothing super high but high enough for me to panic. Both Mason and Timothy have had Febrile Seizures so every time they get fevers I panic. Of course the only medicine we had in the house was recalled Tylenol. Thankfully my dad and Judee ran out and got some Motrin.

It seemed to be working and would bring the fever down fairly quickly. Then Tuesday morning around 2:30 Timothy woke up burning up, so I had to give him some more Motrin and then he slept in the living room with us. He seemed to be doing better Tuesday but the fever would keep coming back and I would have to keep giving him Motrin only now he fever was starting to come back before I could give him more medicine. And now Taylor woke up with a swollen, gunky eye and not being able to even open her eyes. She looked miserable.

Luckily Taylor already had a 3 month check up scheduled for that afternoon, and I had my mom call the doctor to see if I could have all three kids checked out to make sure no one had ear infections or anything worse than a cold. Of course this caused major problems. Tim had taken off work because we were up late with Timothy and he didn't get much sleep, but refused to help me take them all to the doctor. I really did not feel like dragging all three out in the 100 degree temps to the doctor all by myself if I didn't have to. But according to him the boys were not sick enough to go to the doctor. He knew Timothy was, but just could not be inconvenienced to get off his ass and away from the computer to help me. I mean hello they are your kids too and they are sick!

So long story short we ended up not going to the doctor. Taylor's eyes cleared up, still not sure what was up. Mason still has a slight cold, and Timothy is still running a fever on and off. So I decided to take this opportunity to schedule an appointment with the new doctor. I was able to get Taylor an appointment for July 7th they said they would combine her 2 months and 4 month appointment together. Timothy will be going in today at 1 just to make sure all is OK. Since he is now saying his head hurts.

I guess this is what happens when you spend 4 straight days outside in the heat swimming. I know that they are all fine, and that It is just from the heat or a summer cold. But I can't help but yet again be furious at Tim for not helping me out. Once again not putting his kids first, not caring.

I will update later after the appointment.

Happy Father's Day

I know I am a little late with my post. I have sat all day thinking about how I am going to write this post. I don't want to keep complaining or sound like all I do is complain.

My dad is great! Even though my parents have been divorced since I was little, he has always been a big part of my life. I cherish my memories with him on the weekends as a child. We always went and did things, mostly shopping! He has always been there for me. I could not pick a better dad. He is also a wonderful Grandpa to the kids! They adore him and I know he loves them to pieces! We are over there all the time, especially lately to swim! I LOVE seeing the boys playing with their Pa Pa!

Thanks for all you do dad/Pa Pa, we ALL love you!

This is the hard part. While Tim does so much for our family by working and supporting us so that I can stay home with the kids, which I am truly grateful for, he is not the most active father. I have no doubt in my mind and heart that he loves his children, no doubt at all. I just wish he would take a bigger role in their lives. Sure he is always here, but not really here. He usually spends his evenings on the computer or yelling at them. He used to give them their baths, after lots of bitching, but he doesn't really do that anymore. He sometimes puts them to bed, but usually I do without him even knowing they went to sleep. No good nights, no hugs, no kisses.

The boys LOVE him so much and when he comes home from work, all they want to do is spend time with their daddy. I just wish he could realize that his kids need him. They need this time with him. Positive time, not yelling. I wish that he would hold Taylor and play with her, I know she would really love it. My heart truly breaks thinking about them growing up and looking back and realizing all the time he wasted playing games and not spending it with his kids.

I ask him all the time That if something happened to them(god forbid) or when they grow up, will he look back and not regret the time he missed with them. He always says he won't. If I was him I sure would. I am torn because I know he loves them and he is a great father, but he could be so much more.

I just hope that they never question his love for them. I fear they will.

OK enough with the sad stuff! Here are some pictures from today at my dad and Judee's. We spent the day in the pool.....again! We all had fun though. Tim had to work but came over in the evening for a Little while. Hope everyone else had a great Father's Day!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Yesterday was my dad's 49th birthday. I know his birthday is the 18th of June I just did not realize it was already the 18th. These day's with 3 kids sometimes I loose track of my day's. So needless to say I almost forgot my dad's birthday. So we went over there to spend the day with him.

Since it was like a million degrees out, OK so not really, but it was in the 90s and with the heat index over 100 degrees out. The only reasonable thing to do was go swimming. I know the boys did not mind one bit!

Getting ready to get in

Of course we had to let Taylor in too, but she floated around in style!

Timothy LOVES jumping into the pool, with someone to catch him of course, but now Mason is doing it too. Except Mason does not care if anyone is there to catch him. Such a daredevil!

After a couple hours in the pool, we all were getting hungry. We decided to go to longhorn for dinner. We figured the least we could do was buy them dinner since I did technically forget about my dad's birthday and didn't even get him anything. Dinner was so yummy!! Of course though Judee refused to let us pay for dinner. She is so sweet!

We then headed back to their house for some more swimming. I am pretty sure my children are part fish and would live in the pool. Judee and I decided to run to walmart for a few things and left the guys with the kids. It was dark when we returned and the kids had just gotten out of the pool. They swam all day long and were exhausted! My dad and Tim decided they wanted ice cream so they took a ride to Dairy Queen. We finally made it home around 11 pm, way past bedtime and the boys were gone for the night.

We had a wonderful day! Thanks dad and Judee. Happy Birthday Dad! Love ya.
