Stream of Consciousness

Today pawpaw and Judee came over to ware the boys out so they would take a long nap, er I mean play with them! So we went outside to get some fresh air. With us all passing around colds and germs, we have been stuck in the house for awhile and just really needed to get out. We could only stay out for a short time since it was a little cold with the wind blowing. But it was enough to do the trick! All three took a nap for about 2-3 hours!Today was Tim's last day for a week! Due to his shift switching over. Instead of working a normal 5 days, Sunday-Thursday, he is now working 4 10s, Wednesday-Saturday. The switch happened to fall where he got a week off!! I am not sure I am going to like the new schedule, it will definitely take some time getting used to. But he is looking forward to having 3 days in a row off, and I guess that won't be so bad.

I was joking on my facebook that him having this week off could be a good or bad thing. It could mean a lot of good quality family time, or a lot of arguing, a lot of time playing video games, which makes me want to pull my hair out! Hopefully we can some family things that we don't normally have the time to do.

*Taylor wearing her new hat she got for Christmas, isn't she so cute?!

I still have not sent out my Christmas cards, I know it's not even 2010 anymore! The one year I finally decide to even do cards, order them early, get them addressed early, and forget to send them out. Now I am not even sure if it's worth it anymore.

What do you think, should I still send them out? Or should I just say better luck next year?

Stream of Consciousness

1. I came across this today.

It broke my heart. I could not stop crying. I couldn't have read it at a better time though because just yesterday this could have been one of my boys. Timothy and Mason were in Taylor's room, where both of their dressers are along with Taylor's crib and the book shelve. I thought they were reading books. Out of nowhere I hear a loud crash and they both came flying out of the room in hysterics.

I ran into the bedroom to find the dresser tipped over, the lamp, diapers, and radio on the floor. All the drawers were open, and the only thing that kept the dresser from tipping all the way over was Taylor's crib. If they would have climbed on the other dresser, I am not even sure I want to imagine what would have happened. I asked Timothy why he was climbing on he dresser, and he said he was trying to sleep in the drawers. I am very lucky that they are both OK.

And now my next purchase is going to be finding something to secure the dressers to the wall, really any piece of furniture that can tip. Because his can happen to anyone, and it happens more often than you think. I am not sure why you don't hear about securing furniture more when it comes to baby proofing your house. You hear about securing cabinets so they can't be opened, and covering outlets.

2. Along with the safety theme and baby proofing....Taylor is determined to find any little spec of whatever on the ground and put it in her mouth. Now I know that babies putting everything in their mouth is nothing new, but man, she searches the floor for anything she can find. And she finds it too! Lint, a Cheerio, a piece off of a hot wheel, anything.

So now I can't put her on the floor and walk away unless I have just vacuumed. And let's be honest in a house with 2 little boys the carpets are hard to keep spotless. Which makes getting anything done around the house nearly impossible unless Taylor is napping or in the Jumperoo.

3. The other morning I made pancakes for breakfast. I had some leftover, and so I did what this momma did, and we had peanut butter pancake sandwiches. Except mine were just regular pancakes.

They were a hit! Timothy had 2 sandwiches. As a kid I remember my dad always putting peanut butter on his pancakes in the place of syrup. I always thought it was gross. I guess Timothy is taking after his paw paw!

4. Oh and Taylor lets not forget about Taylor and how much she is eating and growing lately.

This girl can eat, and she LOVES her food! She still nurses about 4-5 times a day give or take. And eats baby food at least 2-3 times a day. Just recently though she has been eating 2 jars at one sitting!

Which is just crazy to me because Mason, who was also exclusively breastfed did NOT like baby food. I could not get him to eat until he was at least 9-10 months old and even then he wouldn't eat baby food, only table food. Timothy who was not breastfed, at baby food from the time he was 4 months old until he was about 9 months old and then he ate table food. He also LOVED his food.

She will also eat EVERYTHING. Peas, bananas, peaches, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, applesauce. The only thing she will not touch is the jar of meats. Honestly though I do not blame her, they smell awful and probably taste bad too! I hope with all this eating she will start packing on the fat!

5. As if the stress of Christmas coming up, and trying to get our van fixed wasn't enough. Tim had his debit card number stolen, and they spend over $400 of the money we really don't have. Thankfully today he filled a report, and we should be getting it all back in the next few days. I will just never understand why people do this kind of stuff.

We had to have my dad run to the grocery store for us again today, and I am so grateful for him. We really needed food and diapers and because of this money problem it screwed us.

Good news is we should be taking our van in tomorrow to get the heat fixed in it. Thanks to my mom who is going to help us out by paying for it to be fixed! I am so grateful to have family who will help us out when we need it!

Now all we need to do is get Taylor's gifts this weekend, and make a visit with Santa! Then hopefully it will be smooth sailing until Christmas!

We are all ready for Halloween over here!

This will be Taylor's 1st Halloween and Mason's 1st Halloween where he is able to actually trick or treat. Last year he fell asleep in the stroller shortly after we started walking.

We are super excited!
----------
The boys got their haircut the other day. Daddy buzzed it! It was long overdue, but I teased Tim that I was going to make him do it outside, gosh I hate having to clean all that hair up. It sticks to everything!

Timothy looks just like Mason. He wouldn't let me take his picture. He is 3, enough said.
----------
Today we took a trip down to the covered bridge by our house. It is one of the few that are left in the state if I remember correctly.

It is beautiful there in the fall with the leaves. Nothing fancy, but it would be a nice place to go have a picnic plenty of picnic tables!

Here is my attempt at a cute picture of the boys. Ahem. Here is Timothy being 3.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love this age?!

Lots of woods, and running!

And Taylor at the covered bridge!

Have a safe and fun Halloween weekend!

On Monday we spent the morning at Chuck E Cheese with friends. We just needed to get out of the house. The boys LOVE it there and Timothy was so excited when I told him we were going to see Nicco.

On Thursday we had our friend Maddie's birthday party. We had a blast! My friend Aaron has such a cute house that is in the country "out on the farm". Since it had rained the night before, we had to be inside because it was wet. This ended up working great, the kids has so much fun playing in the sun room with all the toys. Aaron even moved the blow up bounce house inside in the sun room. Such a great party. Thanks for the inviting us guys. Happy Birthday Maddie!

Yes, I know these pictures came out really bad. I am not sure if it was because it was in the sun room so the lighting and sun was off, or if I just didn't have my camera on the right settings. Most of them came out really dark and when I edited them and tried to lighten them up, this is what happened. I am not really go at photography so I really don't know why they look bad.

On another note, Mason is sick. I am blaming it on Chuck E Cheese since our friend Nicco is sick too. It appears to just be a cold, but sucks nonetheless. I notices last night after we spend the day at Maddie's party and he seemed to be fine then, that he now had a runny nose and cough. The night was a disaster. Mason kept waking up screaming because he could hardly breath from being so congested. He was wheezing and his lungs sounded so junky. He ended up in our bed for the first time since he was born. It was the only way either of us could sleep.

Still nobody got much sleep between Mason tossing and turning and wimpering in his sleep, and I sleeping with one eye open making sure he was breathing. Needless to say I am extremely tired today. He did take a great nap today for about 4 hours. I am a little bummed, because I was hoping to maybe convince Tim to take us to the balloon glow in Forest Park tonight, but now we will be staying in. Depending on how he is in the morning maybe we can go to the balloon races. Although tomorrow is Tim's only day off this week so I am going to guess he will just want to stay home. I want to GET OUT of this house!

Oh well. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
